The Power of LA Voters For Change
We The People of Los Angeles, have a chance to create some real change at City Hall during the March 3, 2009 general election where Antonio Villaraigosa is up for re-election, several Los Angeles city council and LAUSD board member seats are on the ballot; along with numerous ballot measures.
Last mayoral election, no one had heard of YouTube or MySpace. Most of us had never even heard of a "blog", let alone read one. And although many of you had email accounts, this election cycle, EVERYONE has an email account and list of email address contacts.
WE SHOULD BE ABLE TO START MAKING MUCH MORE OF AN IMPACT IN THIS NEW TECHNOLOGICAL ERA!
Holding group meetings are important, too. But Los Angeles is such a big area, no matter what location you choose, it is inconvenient for most of the people to attend. And it's tough to get everyone in the room at the same time on the same day.
LA VOTERS FOR CHANGE has put together a blog where we will post videos from candidates, news articles and blog posts that help support some of the reasons we need change in 2009. The first article features the Los Angeles Times coverage of Measure B (Solar Energy Bond). LA VOTERS FOR CHANGE takes a "NO" position on Measure B, so we posted the article for all to see.
You can also see the slate of LA VOTERS FOR CHANGE endorsed candidates and ballot positions. Go to http://lavotersforchange.com/.
We hope the blog is a focal point that you can use to help promote the kind of change that LA VOTERS FOR CHANGE will be pushing for in the upcoming elections.
THE ENTIRE EFFORT IS BASED AROUND HAVING YOU EMAIL THE BLOG ADDRESS (http://lavotersforchange.com/) TO EVERYONE IN YOUR EMAIL CONTACTS IF YOU SUPPORT THE SLATE OF CANDIDATES WE HAVE ASSEMBLED.
AND FINALLY, you can read the LA VOTERS FOR CHANGE petition that will describe why we need change at LA City Hall. CLICK HERE to read the petition.
If you have anything you would like to see added or addressed send an email to info@LAVotersForChange.com.
